Amy Greene powered her way to the National Intermediate Cross Country title on Sunday.

Around the grounds of Dundalk Institute of Technology, the Finn Valley AC woman surged to gold.

The Rosses native left Orla Duffy and Susan McManus, both of Dublin City Harriers, firmly in her slipstream to grab her latest noteworthy victory.

By the end, Greene was firmly a runaway winner.

Last month, Greene was the gold medalist in the junior race at the Celtic International Cross Country Championships in Scotland.

In December,  Greene helped the Irish U20s to a fifth-place finish at the European Cross Country Championships in Laeken Park, Belgium.

The DCU student, who is coached by Helen McCready, was also second in the U20 race at the 2023 National Championships at Gowran Park.

Finn Valley AC placed as the second team in the National Masters Cross Country Championships.

They were led by Leoni Cooke in sixth with Teresa Doherty eighth, joined as scorers by Kay Byrne (28) and Aisling Moore (44) with Ita Kelly (52) also toeing the line

Raheny Shamrocks grabbed the gold with Cooke winning the F35 category and Byrne the F60 silver medalist.

Cooke, Doherty and Byrne were joined by Fionnuala Diver of Rosses AC, who was 14th overall, to take inter-county silver for Donegal.

Donegal’s masters men won inter-county bronze medals. Gerard Gallagher (23) and Barry Gallagher (73) of Finn Valley (23) and the Rosses trio Charlie O’Donnell (26), Manus McHugh (46) and Declan Gallagher (57) took Donegal to third on the podium.

Inishowen AC left with M50 bronze medals with Pauric McKinney (27), Liam Bradley (77), Martin McLucas (97) and Philip Callaghan (132) doing the business.

McKinney, Bradley and McLucas were joined by Rosses man Patrick Trimble (79) and Gary Crossan (100), wearing the Dundrum South Dublin vest, for M50 county silver.

In the Juvenile B races, Rosses AC’s Enya Logue won individual bronze in the U11 race. Logue’s third-place finish led Rosses to fifth in the team event with Caitlin Sweeney (13), Claire Minnock (50) and Rosie Breslin (94) also scoring.

Finn Valley AC took bronze in the U15 boys. Pascal McMenamin (15), Dylan Temple (26), Oisin Browne (28) and Eanna Byrne (36) were on the scoring team.
