Donegal’s Ruairi McLaughlin landed an impressive victory on Saturday night at Virtus MMA in Omagh, with the Donegal Town man overcoming Tiarnan McKenna by decision.

McLaughlin from Kombat JJ is an experienced fighter on the novice scene already with him landing his 17th win on Saturday, while also previously being a Virtus Novice champion.

McKenna fighting in his hometown, stepped up a weight class to 69kg, but the experience of McLaughlin in the end was just too much for the Tyrone native.

Taking to social media following his win McLaughlin said: “Big thanks to Ciaran McFadden and Matthew Friel for all the work they put into me, leading up to this fight and everyone at Kombat Jiu-Jitsu for getting me ready for it.”
