Here are Donegal's previous Olympians

There will be a sizeable Donegal interest in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the county has a proud history of people from Donegal or people who were attached to its sports clubs competing at the Olympics

Sinead Jennings (Rowing; 2016)

A world rowing champion in 2001 when she won gold in Lucerne, Jennings attempted qualification in cycling for the 2012 Games in London, but returned to rowing again.

The Letterkenny woman, a sister of the 2012 Olympic marathon competitor Catriona, she qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio alongside Claire Lambe in the women's lightweight double sculls. The pair finished sixth in the final at Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
