Here are Donegal's previous Olympians

There will be a sizeable Donegal interest in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the county has a proud history of people from Donegal or people who were attached to its sports clubs competing at the Olympics

Mark English (Athletics; 2016, 2020)

Overlooked for a spot at the 2012 Olympics in London, Letterkenny man Mark English took his place at the 2016 Games in Rio. English reached the semi-finals of the men's 800m in Rio, breezing through his heat in 1:46.40. English lowered the mark to 1:45.93 for fifth in his semi-final.

In Tokyo at the last Olympic Games, English missed out on qualifying from his heat when clocking 1:46.75, pipped by a place.
