Mona McSharry (Swimming; 2020)
A native of Grange, McSharry is a graduate of the Marlins Swimming Club in Ballyshannon. At the 2020 Olympic Games, which were delayed until 2021 due to Covid-19, McSharry reached the women's 100m breaststroke final.
McSharry was the first Irish woman since Michelle Smith at the 1996 version in Atlanta to reach an Olympic swimming final.
At the Tokyo Aquatics Centre, McSharry was eighth, touching the wall in 1:06.94.
