The Raphoe woman created history when, aged just 19, she defeated Estonia's Kati Tolmoff 18-21 21-18 21-19 at the Olympic Games in Bejing. She was the first ever Irish woman to win a badminton match at the Olympics, but she lost out to Jun Jae-youn from South Korea in her next match.
