Finn Valley AC’ Sinead McConnell picked up a silver medal on Saturday morning at the World Masters Championships in Gothenburg. 

McConnell clocked 56:16 in the W55 10k race walk. She was beaten to gold by Michelle Rohl, a three-time Olympic race walker with the United States in 1992, 1996 and 2000 and a multiple Pan-American medalist. 

But it was a typically gutsy and determined performance by the Donegal woman who also takes team silver with Ireland.
