Katie-George Dunlevy has picked up Ireland’s first gold medal at the Paris Paralympic Games. 

Dunlevy - whose dad John is a native of Mountcharles - and her pilot Linda Kelly stormed to victory in the women's B individual time trial.

It's Dunlevy’s seventh Paralympic medal in total which now includes four gold and three silver medals. 

Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal collected a silver medal in the women's B 3000m individual pursuit on Sunday. 

Meanwhile, in the men’s B individual time trial, Damien Vereker and pilot Mitchell McLaughlin - a Drumkeen native - finished seventh, clocking 36:31.09.
