ATU Donegal and FinTrU extend sports scholarship partnership

ATU Donegal has confirmed the continuation of its collaboration with FinTrU for another year, marking the third year of their successful partnership.

The initiative includes two sports scholarships designed to support students pursuing finance or technology-related degrees while engaging in competitive sports.

The partnership has seen significant developments for both ATU Sport Donegal and FinTrU, with plans for further growth as they continue working together.

“In 2022, we had nine sports teams at ATU Donegal. That number has grown to 16 in 2024, and FinTrU’s sponsorship and support has played a pivotal role in allowing this expansion,” said Michael Murphy, ATU Donegal’s Head of Sport.

One notable addition for 2024 is ATU Donegal’s volleyball team, which has already begun competing. The university hopes to introduce two new teams annually to further expand its sporting opportunities.

FinTrU, established in 2013 and headquartered in Belfast, provides technology-enabled client lifecycle management solutions for Global Financial Institutions. The company now employs 1,500 people across its offices in Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, London, Letterkenny, Porto, and New York. Earlier this year, it opened a new 21,500-square-foot office in Letterkenny.
