The Black & Amber 4 Mile will remember the late Aidan McGlynn
Letterkenny Athletic Club and St Eunan’s GAA Club are joining forces for a special event to remember the late Aidan McGlynn.
The Black & Amber 4 Mile road race will take place on Sunday, February 23.
Beginning at 10.30am in Letterkenny, the run will honour Aidan, who died on September 5, aged 50.
Late of Ardnawark, Barnesmore, Donegal Town, and formerly Rockhill, Aidan, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2023, was a member of both clubs.
This year, Letterkenny AC members completed the 2024 Dublin Marathon in his memory and raised €8,447 for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) in the process.
St Eunan’s won the Donegal Senior Football Championship this year and, after the victory, Kieran Tobin, the captain, mentioned ‘the wee man’ in his acceptance speech at Sean MacCumhaill Park. The St Eunan’s jerseys had Aidan’s name embroidered beneath the club crest.
