Joe Higgins - School Boy Award
The big success for the Letterkenny boy came on March 10 that year when he won the All-Ireland Cross-County U-15 title in Dungarvan.
Higgins crossed the line in an outstanding time of 9 minutes 15 seconds having overtaken the favourite and Leinster champion in the home straight of the 3,000m race.
History was made too as he became the first Donegal athlete to take a schools' cross-country title.
