St John Bosco Boxing Club held a successful home tournament on March 2 at the St John Bosco Centre, showcasing the incredible talent within the club.

The event was a celebration of local boxing, with several standout performances throughout the day.

Isla McShane, the reigning Ulster champion, was awarded the Most Improved Boxer. Known for her impressive skills and determination, Isla is quickly becoming one to watch in the future. Her hard work and commitment to the sport were evident, and her continued rise is one the local community is excited to follow.

Nadine Pearson, who has proven herself to be a top-tier boxer, was named Boxer of the Year for the second consecutive year. Earlier in the day, Nadine represented the Ulster Select Team in Belfast, where she faced Wales in a competitive match. After her national commitment, she rushed home to compete in her home tournament, where she faced the talented Roisin Hegarty from Twin Towns ABC.

The Fight of the Night award went to Isleon Hani, whose outstanding performance impressed both the judges and the audience. Isleon is another promising boxer at St John Bosco, and his future in the sport looks incredibly bright.

The club extended its heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the event, including sponsors, local businesses who contributed to the raffle prizes, and the 28 boxers who took to the ring.

The support from all the clubs that travelled to participate in the event was also deeply appreciated.
