Loughros Point Rowing Club’s Erika Morrow has set a new Irish record in the J16 category for the 60-minute row on the Concept2 ergometer.
Erika rowed an incredible 13,551m, breaking the previous record of 12,700m. Having only started rowing last year, Erika was inspired by her uncle Tomás, a fellow club rower, and her two sisters, Clara and Emma. Emma now coaches strength and conditioning at the club.
Erika’s success doesn’t stop there - she also claimed gold at this year’s Irish Indoor Rowing Championships in the J15 1000m category.
With her dedication and rapid progress, the future looks bright for Erika, and the club is excited to see what challenge she takes on next.
Loughros Point Rowing Club is gearing up to host two major events this year: the Irish Junior Coastal Championships in July, and the prestigious Home Internationals Beach Sprints in September - the first international coastal rowing event ever to be held in Ireland.
