Adam McKinley won bronze at the European Universities Rowing Championships in Poland on Sunday.
The Letterkenny native, representing Queen’s University in Belfast, was partnered with Benedict Weis in the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls in Bydgoszcz over the one kilometre distance.
McKinley and Weis finished in a time of 3:16.01 to take bronze, just behind winners Andre Ferreira and Telmo Silva from the University of Aveiro in Portugal in a time of 3:12.68, with Poznan University of Technology pair Dmytro Kulyk and Jakub Nierzwicki in second in a time of 3:14.17.
McKinley and Weis won their heat in 3:25.08 to advance to the final and put in an even more impressive performance to take third place.
