Mona McSharry tied for second in the 100m breaststroke final at the US Open Championships.
McSharry, who won gold in the 50m breaststroke 24 hours earlier, touched the wall in 1:06.81.
Canadian Alexanne Lephage finished in an identical time having made a strong surge in the second half of the race.
Marlins Swimming Club’s McSharry, the 2024 Olympic bronze medallist, led at the turn in 31.20, but Kate Douglass from US came on to win in 1:06.55.
McSharry had been the second fastest qualifier in 1:07.07.
This event, in Austin, Texas, is opening McSharry’s long course season with the Grange native opting to skip the European Short Course Championships.
McSharry had won gold in the 50m, clocking 30.48.

At the recent World Aquatics Swimming Championships World Cup, McSharry won five medals across the three weekends and set five Irish records in the same period.
