Erika Morrow on top of the podium in Limerick
Erika Morrow won a brilliant gold medal at the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships at the UL Sports Arena in Limerick on Saturday.
The Loughros Point Rowing Club member was the winner in the W18 1km with a time of 3:30.7, 2.3 seconds ahead of Shannon Rowing Club’s Lucy Anne O’Leary.
Morrow also picked up silver in the Women’s Open 2000m relay, teaming up with the Tullaghan Bay Rowing Club’s Martina Cronin, Kathleen Doocey, and Emma Gaughan.
Morrow, who set a World Record in the WJ15-16 Indoor Marathon Rowing in December, also finished fourth in the WJ18 500m, and was fifth in the WJ18 2000m events.
In the Women’s 50-59 category, Lena Breslin of Kincasslagh Rowing Club won bronze in both the 2000m and the 500m.

Breslin finished third in the 500m in a time of 1.47:1, 7.8 seconds off winner, Sally Cudmore of Lee Rowing Club, with Anne Rutherford in second.
In the 2000m, Breslin’s time of 8:04.6 had her ten seconds clear to take the bronze, with Cudmore again winning the event by 26.1 seconds from Kathy Galvin of Passage West Rowing Club, with the Kincasslagh member a further ten seconds back.
