Rachael Darragh reached the last 16 of the Portugal International Championships.

The Raphoe badminton ace was competing in the women’s singles of the competition, held in Caldas da Rainha.

Darragh began with a 21-12 21-16 win over Milena Schnider from Switzerland.

In the round of 16, the Donegal woman was beaten by the second seed, Wen Chi Hsu.

The Chinese Taipei player, who defeated Norway’s Frederikke Lund 21-10 21-14 in her opening round, defeated Darragh 21-13 21-13.
