Over 500 students competed at the Secondary Schools Cross Country hosted by Finn Valley AC on Thursday.
In excellent conditions, the standards were also high as this popular annual event showed once again its standing with schools from as far as Monaghan and Sligo turning out.
Caolan McFadden, who won Irish juvenile 1500m and 800m golds on the track this summer, took the spoils in impressive fashion in the third year boys’ race. The Loreto, Milford student, a Cranford AC athlete, powered clear of St Eunan’s College man Mark Galvin to take the win.
