Finn Valley dominate team honours as Caolan McFadden shines again

Finn Valley won six of the 12 team golds at the Ulster Novice and Uneven Ages Cross Country Championships while Caolan McFadden scorched to victory ahead of Irish Championships on his home turf

Elsa Moore from Lifford-Strabane AC was the bronze medalist in the under-17 girls race, with Lucy Foster (Willowfield) and Hannah Wade (City of Derry Spartans) first and second.

Just six points separated the leading three teams in the under-15 boys event. Lagan Valley took team gold with Armagh AC in second and Finn Valley AC coming a narrow third.

Odhran McBrearty led the charge for Finn Valley in fifth. Brian Lyons was 12th, Conor Gallagher 19th and Paraic McGettigan was 20th.

Letterkenny AC’s Anna Russell was sixth and Emma Bonar eighth to take their team to bronze in the under-15 girls race. Cara McGonagle (26th) and Sophie Ellie (29th) gave neat back-up.
