Rosses AC Ladies club captain Noreen McGee, along with Ann Harkin, travelled over to Milford AC's presentation night to collect the Marathon Team Challenge trophy last weekend.
The clubs involved in the challenge were Milford AC, , Finn Valley AC and Rosses where the top 10 finishers in the Dublin Marathon were added together to produce the fastest time - with Rosses coming out on top.
A great night was had and huge thanks for the welcome and hospitality shown by Milford AC.At the Ulster cross country uneven ages last Sunday Rosses AC had a number of juveniles competing.
Amy Greene finished 8th in the u-13 race and 2nd finisher for the county thus helping the county team to silver also. Amy has now secured her place for All Irelands in December.
Her team mates Hannah, Roise and Tara showed great support with gutsy runs on Sunday also. Strong runs from both u15 boys and girls teams - cousins Donal and Jack Walsh gave it a great effort but a few injuries hampered the other boys' attempts.
The girls soaked up the atmosphere and enjoyed it- if it was slightly mucky for them.
The u17 boys ran one short of a full team and injury kept Niall at bay but Finlay Marshall yet again ran well with Dylan Boyle not far behind. A good showing from a committed and improving group.
For the seniors it was the Ulster Novice Cross Country Championships where the Men's team placed 4th and Ladies team 6th. Well done to everybody - impressive running, considering the marathon was only a week ago!
Attention switches this weekend to the Donegal Senior Cross Country championships in Ballybofey and the newly introduced cross country relays.
There are a number of teams going so please contact your coach for details.
