Peter and Sarah in front of the cameras on First Dates Ireland
A Donegal man just might’ve met his match as the nation watched on.
Peter Grant, a 22-year-old agricultural student from Muff, found success on the RTE2 dating show, First Dates Ireland.
He was paired with Sarah, also 22, who is from a small village in Wicklow. She was tired of situationships and hoped to find someone to settle down with long-term.
“I wouldn’t mind a farmer. I’m a fan of a man in wellies, and I’d like a GAA lad as well.” Sarah said on the show.
And Peter perfectly fit all her requirements!
At the first meeting, they hit it off instantly, despite Sarah’s initial difficulty in pronouncing the name of Peter’s local town.
“What was it called?,” she said. “Is that place real?”.

The date was filled with smiles, laughter, and banter from the minute the two had sat down at the Gibson Hotel in Dublin.
Their personalities bounced off each other really well and bonded over their shared love of the land, travelling, and football.
When asked if they would like to see each other again, the couple enthusiastically agreed with no hesitation.
Sarah says that First Dates has “ticked all the boxes off' and that the dating show “couldn’t have gone any better.”

Peter also confirmed that he definitely fancied her, “When I came in, her looks were class, and her bubbly personality too.” He had said with a wide grin.
The date went so well that even a kiss was shared at the end while heading out of the hotel to get drinks before Peter headed back to Donegal, with the couple later meeting and enjoying a second date.
