The Burt woman has made two appearances off the bench in Ireland's opening two defeats against France and Italy, and the squad hopes to turn their fortunes around this weekend when they lock horns with Wales at Musgrave Park.

Donegal's Sadhbh McGrath has been named on the bench for Ireland's upcoming match against Wales this weekend in the Six Nations at Musgrave Park.

It has not been the best start for Ireland who lost their opening two games to France and Italy.

Vittoria Vecchini grabbed two tries for Italy as they beat Ireland 27-21 at the RDS Arena in front of a record 6,605 crowd two weeks ago.

McGrath has made appearances off the bench in Ireland's opening two games and her side will hope to turn their fortunes around this weekend against Wales.

The 19-year-old from Burt made her Irish debut last year when she started in the Six Nations against Wales.

Her side were hoping to turn a new leaf from a torrid 2023 year, but so far results have not fallen their way.

Ireland head coach Scott Bemand has made one change to his starting XV to play Wales which sees co-captain Edel McMahon back into the side.

However, the headline news is Cliodhna Moloney has been named on the bench. She is in line to win her first cap since November 2021 after she was exiled from the international set-up for criticising an IRFU chief.
