Carndonagh's Erin McConalogue
Cardonagh native Erin McConalogue has been selected for the Ireland U18 Sevens squad that are playing this weekend in the European U18 Championship in Strasbourg, France.
McConalogue, from the Inishowen Rugby Club, made her debut for the Ireland U18s in the U18 Six Nations back in March.
History was made as Inishowen Rugby Club's McConalogue became the first player from the club to be capped at that level where Ireland lost 19-12 against England before beating Italy 20-0.
The young Donegal star also plays for Ulster and was selected for Ireland duty last spring after she attended a three-weekend training camp at the IRFU High Performance Centre.
This weekend the Ireland sevens squad will play three games on Saturday against France, Germany, and Croatia, before playing Poland, Spain, and Portugal on Sunday.
