Carndonagh native and Ireland international Erin McConalogue
Cardonagh native Erin McConalogue scored her first international try when she played for the Ireland Senior Women’s Development Squad playing at the HSBC Sevens in Dubai on Friday.
Lining out at No 12, the U-18 star came up on the right side when Ireland got the better of France in a 4-2 win.
It’s been a great season for McConalogue who was selected for the Ireland U18 Sevens squad at the European U-18 Championship in Strasbourg, France back in July.
McConalogue, from the Inishowen Rugby Club, made her debut for the Ireland U18s in the U18 Six Nations back in March.
History was made as Inishowen Rugby Club's McConalogue became the first player from the club to be capped at that level where Ireland lost 19-12 against England before beating Italy 20-0.
The young Donegal star also plays for Ulster and was selected for Ireland duty last spring after she attended a three-weekend training camp at the IRFU High Performance Centre.
