Seamus Coleman will line out for Everton into a 15th season having signed a new one-year contract until the end of June 2024.

The 34-year-old who signed from Sligo Rovers, is already the player with the one club for the longest stint - 14 years and five months, ahead of Brighton’s Lewis Dunk, 12 years and 11 months, and Tottenham captain Harry Kane, 12 years and five months. The Killybegs native is, in all, the longest-serving player in the Premier League.

Coleman has made 409 appearances for the Club, putting him 17th on the Toffees’ all-time list. He is just three matches away from surpassing Tim Howard (354) as Everton’s record appearances maker in the Premier League.

“Everyone knows how much Everton means to me which is why it is special to sign this new contract and continue to play for this great club,” Coleman told Everton’s official website. “From the moment I joined more than 14 years ago, the support my family and I have had from our fans and everyone around the Club has been amazing and I never take for granted just how fortunate I am to represent Everton. That has included the honour of wearing the captain’s armband in recent years.”
