Carl McHugh was on the mark for FC Goa just 30 minutes into his first appearance
Carl McHugh scored a goal on his debut as FC Goa came from behind to secure a 4-1 victory over Chennaiyin FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday.
The result means the Lettermacaward native's side now advance to the semi-finals of the Indian Durand Cup 2023.
McHugh slotted home on 30 minutes to level after Bikash Yumnam's early header that put Chennaiyin FC in front five minutes in. Carlos Martinez, Noah Sadaoui and Victor Rodriguez all scored to complete the FC Goa win, with the last two goals coming in stoppage time.
Leitirmacaward native McHugh spent four years at the Mohun Bagan Super Giant and picked up two ISL titles. He previously played for Swindon Supermarine and Dundalk, both on loan from Reading, as well as Bradford City, Plymouth Argyl and, Motherwell. He earned Republic of Ireland caps up to U-21 level.
