Ronan Boyce scored a cracking winner as Derry City moved into second spot in the League of Ireland Premier Division.

The Ramelton man hit the 74th minute goal for the Candystripes, who sealed European football for 2024 with their defeat of Cork City at Turners Cross.

It’s Boyce’s second goal of the season with both coming against Cork. Boyce also netted in a 3-1 win in April.

Boyce struck after playing a one-two with Cameron Dummigan. Boyce blasted to the top corner from distance, hit strike giving Tiernan Brooks no chance.

Former Finn Harps players Sam Todd and Ciaran Coll came off the bench for Derry, who welcome St Patrick’s Athletic to the Brandywell next week.
