Finn Harps have announced that Shane McMonagle has re-signed for the 2024 season.

The defender first joined the club at the beginning of the 2023 campaign, making 15 appearances before moving to neighbouring Dergview FC during the summer. The 23-year-old made 16 appearances for the NIFL Championship side before returning to Finn Park this week. McMonagle is the 20th player to be confirmed by the club ahead of the 2024 campaign.

“We are delighted to get Shane back to the club, he did really well in his first spell with us and has gained valuable experience with Dergview over the past few months, getting to play regular first team football at senior level," Harps Assistant Coach and Academy Director Kevin McHugh told club media. "He is a natural footballer and comes from a great footballing family and will no doubt knuckle down now and compete for his place over the coming weeks and months.”

Harps take on Derry City in their first home preseason game in 11 years this Sunday at 2pm.
