The Finn Harps Academy 2010s pulled off a big upset as they defeated the FAI National Academy in the opening game of the 2010 Super Elite section of the Galway Cup yesterday. 

Odhran Mc Hugh’s goal, with eight minutes to go, sealed the result for Harps after an impressive display from the Donegal side. 

Finn Harps attacked from the first whistle and created a number of opportunities throughout the game while giving nothing away at the back. 

Kevin McHugh’s men will be delighted with the result which has put them in control of the group at this very early stage of the competition. 

The Finn Harps Academy 2011’s and 2012’s were also in action at the Galway Cup yesterday with the 2011’s drawing 1-1 with the North Tipperary & District League. 

The 2012’s had a comfortable 2-0 win against the NDSL with goals from Aaron McBride and Oliver Maguire
