Liverpool legends John Barnes and John Aldridge made an appearance in Letterkenny over the Christmas holidays.
The pair were joined by Liverpool TV host Steve Hothersall for a meet and greet before the main event, all run by Peak Top Agency, that drew a great crowd to the Mount Errigal Hotel.
Supporters of the Anfield club heard anecdotes from the two legends, with a raffle and auction also part of the entertainment.
Barnes joined Liverpool in 1987 from Watford for £900,000 and spent a decade at the club. £900,000. He was the PFA Players' Player of the Year in 1987–88, and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year in 1987–88 and 1989–90, winning the old First Division title in each of those two seasons and the FA Cup in 1989 and 1992 and the League Cup in 1995. He also won 79 England caps between 1983 and 1995, scoring 10 goals and saw out his career at Newcastle United and Charlton Athletic.
Aldridge was a boyhood Liverpool fan and also joined the club in the summer of 1987, in his case from Oxford United. He played 83 times for Liverpool, scoring 50 goals, and winning the 1987-88 league title and FA Cup in 1989 before moving to Real Sociedad and Tranmere Rovers. He would later manage Tranmere and won 69 caps for the Republic of Ireland between 1986 and 1996, scoring 10 times.
Peak Top Agency last month ran an event that featured former Celtic and Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill, as well as his former Northern Ireland teammate Gerry Armstrong.
