Johnny Kenny enjoyed a fantastic season at Shamrock Rovers, where he was on loan from Celtic
Johnny Kenny made his Celtic debut in the Scottish Premiership as his side ran out 4-1 winners at Ross County.
Kenny is the son of Johnny Snr, who played for Finn Harps between 1999 and 2003 and made 153 appearances for the Ballybofey club, winning a First Division Cup in 2002.
Kenny Jnr, from Riverstown, Co Sligo, joined Celtic from Sligo Rovers in January 2022 and spent the last two seasons on loan at Shamrock Rovers. In 2024, he scored 20 goals in 39 appearances for the Tallaght-based side, including five in the Europa Conference League, which makes him the competition's joint-top scorer, alongside Chelsea's €70 million forward Christopher Nkunku and Afimico Pululu, who plays his football for Polish side, Jagiellonia.
A Kyogo Furuhashi double helped clinch the victory for Celtic against Ross County at the Global Energy Stadium, which moves Brendan Rodgers' side 18 points clear of Rangers at the top of the table.

In between the Japanese striker's double, Jordan White had levelled from the spot for the home side. However, Arne Engels scored a retaken penalty in injury time after a VAR check showed that goalkeeper Jordan Amissah had moved off his line before saving the initial spot-kick. Luke McCowan had soon added a fourth for Celtic, with Kenny, who replaced Adam Idah in the 73rd minute, providing the assist.
