Buncrana native Kevin Jordan has been named in the Irish Colleges & Universities squad for their forthcoming friendly match against the Irish Defence Forces in Dublin.

A third-year student at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Donegal's Letterkenny campus, 21-year-old Jordan is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Sports & Exercise with Physical Education. He has been a recipient of the ATU sports scholarship for the past three years, underscoring his dedication both academically and athletically.

Jordan's football journey began with Buncrana Hearts before he joined Finn Harps in 2022. Since then, he has become a regular feature in the senior men's team, making eight appearances in the 2024 League of Ireland First Division.

Despite a significant injury that sidelined him for much of the season, Jordan made a commendable return to action in the latter stages. In September 2024, he committed his future to Finn Harps by signing a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2026 season.

Reflecting on his selection, Jordan said, "There were around 90 players at the trials, so there was good competition and good standards amongst everyone. I’m very proud to have made it."

Michael Murphy, Head of Sport at ATU Donegal, expressed his pride in Jordan's achievement: "We all in ATU are very proud of Kevin’s achievement on making the Ireland Colleges & Universities side. It is fantastic recognition for himself to represent his country and we wish him and all his Ireland teammates the very best in their upcoming fixture."

The upcoming friendly against the Irish Defence Forces will provide Jordan with an opportunity to showcase his talents on a national stage.
