The result from Finn Harps’ opening fixture in this season’s SSE Airtricity League First Division against Kerry FC has been annulled. 

Harps lost out 2-0 with goals in either half from Joe Adams and Niall Bookwell, but it has since been learned that both sides had ineligible players.

Following the conclusion of a disciplinary process regarding player eligibility in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division, an Independent Disciplinary Committee has reached their decision: “Kerry FC fielded an ineligible player, Stevan Stanic-Floody, and Finn Harps fielded an ineligible player, Gavin Hodgins, in their fixture versus each other on February 14.

“In accordance with the FAI Disciplinary Regulations, the result of this fixture is annulled, meaning that the result is void, and neither team will receive any points.

“Also, Wexford FC fielded an ineligible player, Darragh Dunne, in their fixture against UCD AFC on February 14. In accordance with FAI Disciplinary Regulations, Wexford FC has forfeited this fixture by a scoreline of 3-0. Both these decisions are subject to appeal.”
