Harry Pearson says he is loving life at Coleraine - and plans to make it to the number 1 shirt someday.

The St Johnston teenager, a goalkeeper, signed his first professional contract at Coleraine this week.

Pearson made his senior debut in January in the North West Cup final win over Ballinamallard and is highly rated at The Showgrounds.

“It feels great,” Pearson said of his first pro deal. “I’m delighted. It’s something that I’ve wanted for a while now. It’s great to get it over the line

“I know I’ve put in the work and worked hard at it.”

Pearson is enrolled in a full-time education programme at the club. Pearson trains most days with the Coleraine squad and also punches in some study time.

He said:  “I’ve loved it all the way, getting to play football every day of the week. It’s what I’ve always wanted. I’m mixing football with school so I’m still getting the education that I need.

“I’m with the squad every day of the week. The team is forming together well. They’re always there for support and they’re always there to chat to. If I’m ever having doubts, you just look at what they have done and follow their footsteps.”

In 2023, Pearson starred as County Derry won Super Cup NI. They beat Manchester United,

Rangers, Armagh and Tigres UANL from Mexico along the way.

Pearson is ambitious about his future and said: “Work up the ranks. I want to be number 1 in Coleraine someday.”

Coleraine manager Dean Shiels said: “Harry has been performing to a high level within 20s games and the first-team training sessions all season.

“His attitude and commitment has been outstanding since he joined the club and we are looking forward to developing Harry in the future towards establishing himself as a first-team player.”
