Michael Lynch was at the double for Kildrum Tigers Reserves on Saturday as they won the Voodoo Venue Cup final, and it was the perfect reward for his commitment over the season.
Lynch played 16 games in nets for the Sunday team as they finished fifth in the Premier Division, while he also hit double digits in lining out for the Saturday team, scoring nine goals.
And that was no mean feat as he was travelling from London and back at the weekend to play out for the team after their other goalkeeper, Chris O’Donnell, tore his quad.
“It (The Sunday season) sort of petered out towards the end, I was over in London and I was coming back every weekend to play.
“I moved home in February, but before that I was coming back on the Saturday and going over again on a Monday evening.
“We were going well in the league but we lost to Kilmacrennan on the red weather warning day, then we lost to Bonagee and that took the steam out of us.

“But we gave a good account of ourselves in the Ulster Cup final and we were unlucky not to win that.
“We had a big push on for that and it was all guns blazing for that so this final took a back seat.
“But since that it has been all hands on deck for this and we’ll celebrate it as much as we would have if it had been Ulster.”
Lynch was in midfield on Saturday and he had a huge impact, heading home inside two minutes before doubling Kildrum’s lead in the second half.
He also scored twice in the semi-final win against Gweedore Celtic the previous week, so he had a big say in his team winning the competition.
“We got a corner early enough and I got on the end of it so we were lucky enough to start off a cup final with an early goal and we managed to soldier on and get a second and third, it wasn’t a 4-0 game.
“I wouldn’t be much of a goal scorer but they both came from two corners and I got on the end of them, we were just trying to weather the storm from them boys because they had us penned in and fair play to them.
“We knew nothing about Erne, they beat Oldtown earlier in the competition and they were class today, they have some tidy players that we couldn’t get close to but we had a decent back four and ‘keeper and we kept the clean sheet.”
