Pat Spillane has fallen victim to a mischievous social media post that humorously compares Donegal footballer Ciaran Moore to Brighton Premier League star Valentin Barco.

Following Donegal’s dramatic Ulster final extra-time win over Armagh, the Kerry Legend and media pundit praised Moore for his tireless display in that toppling of the All-Ireland champions.

But while discussing Moore’s performance, Spillane made a slip, commenting: “What did I see this week? He was with Brighton.”

And it seems the confusion stems from a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), joking that the St Eunan’s defender had been snapped up by Brighton & Hove Albion due to his resemblance to their Argentine full-back Barco.
