Amber Barrett and Anna Patten were involved as the Republic of Ireland ladies defeated Slovenia in their final Nations League B game.
After a 4-0 defeat in Koper earlier this year by Slovenia, Ireland were shocked by their opponents that night, but they got their campaign back on track with back-to-back wins over Greece and an away win against Turkey last Friday.
Slovenia however, had won all five games in the group and Ireland had to defeat their opponents by four goals in Páirc Uí Chaoimh to equal the head-to-head record.
Saoirse Noonan's early goal gave Carla Ward's side a bit of hope but that would be the only goal of the game as Ireland finished second in the group.
Anna Patten from London, who has Falcarragh roots, started the game while Milford native Amber Barrett came on for Noonan just after the hour mark. Tyler Toland of St Johnston was an unused sub.
Ireland will now face a promotion/relegation play-off to try and return to League A and will play one of the four third-placed teams in the top tier, which consists of Austria, Belgium, Denmark and Iceland.
