The LK Cup returned to action during the week, with the Kernan Group taking over as sponsors of the competition.

There were wins for Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin and Illistrin NS in their opening games against Scoil Mhuire gan Smál and Glenswilly NS, respectively, while Scoil Cholmcille and Scoil Mhuire Stranorlar played out a draw in the Boys competition.

In the Girls, Scoil Mhuire and Illistrin took wins over the same opponents, while Scoil Mhuire gan Smál and Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin drew 2-2.

It marked the beginning of the new competition, which is now sponsored by the Kernan Group, who have committed to sponsoring both the Large Schools and Small/Medium Schools competitions for the coming year.

The Kernan Group are no strangers to supporting local football. They currently sponsor the Finn Harps Academy, Illistrin FC, and Glen Rovers locally, not to mention their support for other organisations and community groups throughout the county.

“As the competition continues to grow, we are delighted to link up with such a strong organisation and look forward to working with them in the future,” a spokesperson for the LK Cup said.
