Ireland U-15 international and Letterkenny native Charlie McGarvey
Donegal trio Charlie McGarvey, Jamie O’Donnell and Michael McColgan have been named in the Republic of Ireland Under-16 squad for two friendlies against Greece.
Letterkenny-born McGarvey and Inishowen duo O’Donnell and McColgan, are part of a 30-player panel for the two home games against Greece in the Carlisle Grounds in Bray as part of a week-long training camp.
McGarvey is a goalkeeper for Sligo Rovers, while Buncrana native O'Donnell and McColgan from Muff are both free scoring attackers for Derry City.
The pair meet today (Tuesday) at 7.45pm and Thursday at 5pm, following on the back of two International Friendlies away to Poland in September, where 17 players in this current squad were involved.
There is a strong selection of players who have excelled in the EA SPORTS LOI Academy structure this year, with seven different clubs represented, predominantly made up of Shamrock Rovers (10) and St Patrick’s Athletic (7).
