Jack Parke during the Regions Cup qualifiers for the Republic of Ireland Amateur team
Jack Parke has been named in the Republic of Ireland Amateur squad for their upcoming match against the Irish Defence Forces on Wednesday night.
The Bonagee man has been named in Conor Coad’s 22-man squad for the fixture as the manager continues to assess his options, with this squad being completely different from the one that faced the FAI ETB XI in a recent friendly.
That squad featured Parke’s brother, Luke, who plays for Letterkenny Rovers, as well as the Cockhill Celtic trio of Harry Doherty, Lee McColgan, and Garbhan Friel, as the Amateur squad won 3-1 at the end of October.
Parke, whose Bonagee United side currently sits top of the Brian McCormick Premier Division, is no stranger to donning the Irish jersey at this level.
Speaking ahead of the game, Republic of Ireland Amateur International Head Coach Conor Coad said: "We're looking forward to another good test and want to build on the positive result and performance we had against the ETB XI.

"The Defence Forces are a strong, well-organised outfit and always present a difficult task for us, so it will be a different kind of challenge.
"This is a great chance for us to look at more players. It’s a completely different squad from the last game, which gives us a fantastic opportunity to assess a wider pool. For many of these lads, it will be their first experience in an Ireland Amateur international set-up, so it will be really good to see how they get on. It’s really important for us to assess as many players as possible at this stage, and we're looking forward to it."
The game is at the home of Wayside Celtic at 8pm.
