Marc Walsh was on target for Ballinamallard United as they shared the points with Queen’s University in the NIFL.

The match saw little goalmouth action until the 37th minute, when Loughanure native Walsh rose to meet a well-delivered cross and headed the Mallards into a deserved lead.

Queens responded three minutes later with a half-chance that drifted narrowly wide, but the hosts went into the break ahead.

Five minutes into the second half, Ballinamallard had a golden opportunity to double their advantage, only for Danny Barker to fire just wide of the post.

The visitors drew level on 80 minutes with a superb 20-yard strike into the corner of the net, leaving goalkeeper Donnelly with no chance.

Ballinamallard pushed hard for a winner in the closing stages, with substitute Darragh Byrne causing problems down the left flank and delivering several dangerous crosses.

Deep into stoppage time, substitute Jack Beatty was first to the ball, but his effort was well saved by the Queen’s goalkeeper. In the end, both sides had to settle for a point apiece.
