Sean Patton was unveiled as an Aldershot player on Friday night, on loan from Reading
Sean Patton had a great start to his loan spell with Aldershot as he opened the scoring in a 3-0 win away to Hartlepool.
The Drumkeen native hit the first goal of the game in stoppage time of the first half in his first appearance for the National League side after joining on loan from Reading on Friday.
Patton was in the right place at the right time as Aldershot broke on the counter via Olly Scott, with a shot cleared off the line by Jay Benn, but Patton was quickest to the rebound to poke it into an empty net in the 58th minute of the first half after a head injury delayed the game.
The 19-year-old had been in good goalscoring form for the League One side’s Under-21s in recent weeks, scoring a hat-trick from off the bench in a 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.
That hat-trick came at his new home ground, the EBB Stadium, and he also netted the winner in his final Premier League 2 game before his loan move, scoring the only goal of the game in a win away to Nottingham Forest.

Patton played 77 minutes at Victoria Park in Hartlepool, as Charlie Warren and Kwame Thomas scored the other goals for the Shots.
Aldershot are in 19th in the table and have been fighting relegation, but they have won three of their last four games to pull them out of the relegation zone.
