Seamus Coleman joined Shay Given as part of the Republic of Ireland squad that won the inaugural Carling Nations Cup at Aviva Stadium on Sunday evening.
Coleman, from Killybegs, came off the bench to earn a third international cap and Lifford native Given kept goal to win his 111th cap. Robbie Keane’s first half goal against the Scots was enough for Ireland to clinch a 1-0 win and the trophy after defeating Wales 3-0 and Northern Ireland 5-0 in their opening two games. Coleman and Given will travel to Skopje this week as part of the squad for the European Championship qualifier against FYR Macedonia, which takes place on Saturday night
