Former Finn Harps winger Stephen McLaughlin made his senior debut across channel on Tuesday night in Bristol City’s 2-0 loss at Southampton in the Capital One League Cup.

Former Finn Harps winger Stephen McLaughlin made his senior debut across channel on Tuesday night in Bristol City’s 2-0 loss at Southampton in the Capital One League Cup.

Gaston Ramirez volleyed in after 15 minutes following James Ward-Prowse’s cross for the opener and Jos Hooiveld then headed in a Ward-Prowse corner seven minutes from the end.

McLaughlin, who is from the Doagh Island, Ballyliffin, is on loan from Nottingham Forest. The 23-year-old played 48 times for Finn Harps in the 2009 and 2010 before spending two seasons at Derry City.
