Kate Keaney takes up role with world champions

The Donegal Town woman will work as a sports scientist with the United States Soccer Federation

Donegal woman Kate Keaney has taken up a new role with the US women’s team, the reigning Women’s World Cup champions.

Donegal Town woman Keaney joins The Stars and Stripes as a sports scientist.

Since 2019, Keaney has been working as a sports scientist with the Republic of Ireland women’s national team.

Keaney worked for StatSports and was their designated person to Vera Pauw’s Ireland team.

Now, Keaney, a former Donegal senior Gaelic footballer, joins the US team, who are number one in the world rankings.

Keaney will be based in Chicago at the United States Soccer Federation headquarters.

Keaney is a former student at University of Limerick, where she obtained a degree in sports science.
