Youth Cup final row referred to SFAI

An incident at the end of last week’s Colin Breslin Cup final has been referred to the Football Association of Ireland.

At the end of the game, in which Bonagee United defeated Kilmacrennan Celtic 1-0, last Wednesday night at The Diamond Park, tempers boiled over.

Players and some management became embroiled in unpleasant scenes and the match officials were forced to intervened.

The match report of referee Liam McLaughlin was reviewed by the Donegal Schoolboys/Schoolgirls & Youth League committee.

It is understood that they deemed it appropriate for the matter to be sent to headquarters for guidance.

The local league say they will not be making any comment on the matter until ‘due process’ is followed.
