Private Seán Rooney remembered at Celtic Park on Christmas Eve
Celtic FC paid tribute to Private Seán Rooney at their fixture against St Johnstone on Christmas Eve.
The 24-year-old soldier, who was a Celtic supporter, was killed in Lebanon while carrying out UN peacekeeping duties and was buried in Newtowncunningham on Thursday. Celtic carried a photo of Private Rooney dressed in the club colours before the game on their scoreboards with a message saying "Private Seán Rooney, Your duty is done. Rest in peace."
Reo Hatate scored a double from right-back as Celtic consolidated top spot in the Scottish Premiership with a 4-1 victory. Kyogo Furuhashi also netted twice as the Hoops restored their nine-point lead over Rangers at the summit.
