Donegal Town’s Keith Anderson of Anderson Estate Agents and Auctioneers represented the county at the Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers' annual international valuation conference at the RDS, Dublin.

The conference heard how the real estate and valuation profession continues to evolve at an incredible pace. Whether it’s the impact of technological advancements, shifting market dynamics, or the growing emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility, the industry is at the forefront of addressing these challenges.

How the profession adapts to new technologies like artificial intelligence and big data, how it manages the ever-changing market conditions, and continues to uphold the highest standards of accuracy, ethics, and transparency is critical. It must embrace innovation while maintaining the trust placed in valuations, recognizing that this impacts both people’s lives and markets.

IPAV introduced the European Blue Book Valuation standards for property to Ireland in 2013. This Valuation standard holds default status with the Irish and European Central Banks in the event of a dispute arising. The 2025 updated Blue Book has just been published by TEGOVA, a pan-European association of professional bodies working for standards, ethics and quality in the real estate valuation market.
