Declan and Brian Boyle, in their new Fiesta WRC, lead the Donegal challenge in this weekend’s Corrib Oil Galway Rally.
Last year’s Donegal International winners are in car number two behind Fermanagh driver Garry Jennings and his Letterkenny co-driver Rory Kennedy in a Subaru WRC, who are the number one seeds.
National modified champion Declan Gallagher from Ardara with Ryan Moore alongside him calling the notes are having their first competitive outing in their new Subaru WRC are in car number seven.
While all eyes will be on the battle between Boyle and Jennings at the top of the seedings there will also be much interest on Gallagher and his move to a WRC car.
The rally will run over two days Saturday and Sunday and through nine stages mostly on the roads of East and South Galway.
There are nine stages on Saturday and a further six on Sunday. The Clayton Hotel in Ballybrit and the rally will have a ceremonial launch in Eyre Square on Friday night.
The rally is the first round of the 2016 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.
