Aodh Ruadh ladies adult team has depleted somewhat over the years due to work commitment, college, travel, emigration and retirement. Bundoran have not had a ladies team for over three years.
So both committees have made the decision to amalgamate their adult LGFA teams.
What does this mean?
It means all adult ladies that want to play Gaelic football in the Bundoran/Ballyshannon area will get the chance to and still be a part of their own club but play for an amalgamated team like back in the 1960s/70s when the men done it known as 'St Josephs'. A name for the ladies team is still undecided.
All the finer details are still to be decided between both committees.
For now we just want to get the word out there to all players that are interested. There will be a meeting with all players over the weekend of the 20th/21st of February, time and venue to be decided.
